5 Quick Tips to Get Your Artwork Print-Ready

October 28, 2025

When it comes to printing custom stickers, labels, or decals, a little prep goes a long way. Follow these simple steps to make sure your designs look sharp, clean, and exactly the way you imagined.

1. Save your file at a minimum of 300 PPI

Print quality starts with resolution. Always save your artwork at 300 PPI (pixels per inch) or higher. This ensures crisp lines, sharp text, and vivid color — especially for small designs or detailed artwork. Lower-resolution files (like 72 PPI, common for web images) can appear blurry or pixelated when printed.

2. Design at your desired print size

What you see on screen isn’t always what you’ll get in print. Make sure your design file is created at the exact size you want printed — for example, a 3” x 3” sticker should be designed at 3” x 3” in your editing program. This keeps proportions accurate and prevents unwanted stretching or scaling during upload.

3. Keep artwork inside the “safe area”

When you upload your design to the StickerYou Editor, you’ll see a safe area outlined on your product preview. Keep all important design elements (like logos, text, and borders) within that area. This ensures nothing important gets trimmed during printing and cutting.

4. Double (and triple) check your text and placement

It’s always worth taking a moment to proof your work. Before finalizing your order, review your text for spelling and spacing. Check that your design is centered and any borders are even because once it’s printed, it’s permanent.
